Frequently Asked Questions
Why are the graphics low-poly/not realistic?
The visual style of Unseen was crafted intentionally to accomplish a couple of goals: avoid triggering, traumatizing, or re-traumatizing users, to keep it accessible for a broad age range, and to avoid sensationalizing the often-misunderstood subject matter of human trafficking.
Does human trafficking actually happen in warehouses?
The warehouse environment in Unseen acts as a conglomeration of a variety of places and industries in which trafficking is highly present (e.g., tourism, agriculture, fashion/textiles, personal care services, etc.). However, trafficking may occur in a warehouse environment, as it can occur anywhere.
If I suspect a trafficking situation, should I get involved or involve the authorities?
If someone is in immediate danger, a call to 911 may be necessary. However, becoming directly involved may put both the victim and yourself in danger. It is important to gather as much information as possible, and then act. If there is no immediate danger to anyone, a call or text to an organization such as the National Human Trafficking Hotline (NHTH) at 1 (888) 373-7888 or National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) at 1-800-843-5678 will allow the appropriate authorities to be notified and help to be dispatched.
If I call a hotline, can I tip anonymously?
Both the NHTH and NCMEC allow for anonymous reporting, so you can opt to let them keep your information and contact you later, or you can remain anonymous.
